“Aber dennoch sind einige Aspekte der Globalisierung im Sinne der Lebensmittel sehr fraglich. Ein Beispiel: Deutschland besitzt einige große Apfelanbaugebiete, die fast jede Apfelsorte anbauen. Die wichtigsten Anbaugebiete für Äpfel liegen in Baden-Württemberg, insbesondere in der Bodenseeregion, sowie in Sachsen-Anhalt und im „Alten Land“ bei Hamburg. 2004 machten Äpfel 80 Prozent der deutschen Baumobsternte aus: 945.000 Tonnen wurden in Deutschland produziert. Mehr als 2000 Betriebe erzeugen in der Region um den Bodensee eine Apfelmenge von etwa 220.000 Tonnen pro Jahr. Das Sortenspektrum ist in der Bodenseeregion besonders groß: Neben Jonagold, Braeburn und Elstar werden hier auch neuere Sorten, wie Cameo und Fuji, angebaut. 2004 wurden in Sachsen-Anhalt mehr als 92.000 Tonnen Äpfel geerntet. Zu den beliebtesten Anbausorten gehören hier der Winterapfel Idared, der Golden Delicious und Jonagold. Auf den vielerorts noch vorhandenen Streuobstwiesen finden sich jedoch auch viele in Vergessenheit geratene Apfelsorten. Der „Schöne von Pontoise“ und die „Goldrenette von Blenheim“ sind zwei Beispiele für solche schützenswerten Überbleibsel vergangener Apfelkultur. Nun sollte man denken, dass gerade die Menschen die in diesen Regionen leben, auf das riesige Angebot an einheimischen Äpfeln zurückgreifen, denn gerade Umfragen zufolge wollen die meisten Menschen Arbeitsplätze in der eigenen Region unterstützen und sichern. Da Äpfel fast überall in Deutschland angebaut werden, von Baden-Württemberg bis Brandenburg, entstehen auch durch den Transport in der Regel keine hohen Emissionen. Nach aktuellen Berechnungen von Wissenschaftlern der Technischen Universität München erzeugt der Transport eines Kilos Bodensee-Äpfel nach München etwa 76 Gramm Kohlendioxid. Kommt das Kilo Äpfel aus Italien liegt der Wert fast drei Mal so hoch. Da viele Verbraucher heutzutage bei den Lebensmitteldiscountern wie Aldi, Lidl usw. einkaufen, werden hier auch gerade die Äpfel mit eingekauft. Dabei achtet kaum einer darauf woher der Apfel eigentlich kommt. Meist stammen diese nämlich vom anderen Ende der Welt wie China, Australien aber auch aus Südamerika.“

here we go and start with a new adventure. New? Yep, as well for you as for me. So let’s talk about the idea behind this strange new thing called “SF” |more|.

Your Facharbeit would more or less follow the topics of the first two semesters and would have to be handed in around May 2008, but that has to be discussed in due time.

The first method & medium at the same time to accompany our learning process will be a learning diary, in this case a blog. Each of you will create her/his own blog and that’s what you are asked to do today, so let’s start with http://de.wordpress.com/ .
When you’ve successfully created your own blog with an address easy to remember, please send me an email with the proper address so that we can make a list of all our blogs to enable each of us to access all of them.
Your first blog should comment on the topics I’ve suggested and reveal your personal choice and ideas concerning these topics. Then you should create a page “about me” with a personal introduction [please only your first name and neither address nor email-address, but a decent photo would be fine]. If you can’t finish all this today @banana, finish it @home and improve design & contents of your blog by playing with ‘themes’, etc.
